You Can't Eat Good Intentions!

I am really having trouble with this xanga thing!  First I'm here...then I'm not...then I am...then I'm not!  What's up with that?  I must be fickle to the max!  I do know this...I think about my xanga friends, but taking the time to actually get on...well, YOU know that just isn't happening!

I have been so burned out using the computer lately.  We have been researching cars for about a month, and refrigerators to boot.  Hours and hours and HOURS of research takes it's toll.  However, I am pleased to announce we are the proud parents of a two year old Toyota, Camry.  And all my research didn't really help us...except to know that the Camry is a great car (which we already knew).  We ended up buying my husband's sister's car.  Plus they bought our old car, so we didn't have to sell it ourselves!  SO glad that's over!  I NEED all the brain cells that went to car shopping for other more important things!

Thought the fridge thing was over too, but we are going to have Best Buy come and pick up the model we bought.  First there was a ding in it, and they brought the silly thing in anyway, without telling me it was there (yes, THEY knew).  After it was settled in place he showed me the ding, and said I could call the store and get the fridge for a reduced price, or they could come back with another one.  I should have told him right then, take it back.  But the bargain shopper in me kicked in, and it kind of depended on how much they would take off the one in my kitchen.  It ended up we didn't like the one in my kitchen anyway!  The shelves are not sturdy enough to hold heavy things without bending in the middle.  Back to square one...and now in a time crunch.  They pick up the dinged one next Thursday...um....we better find the right one before then!

Yep, I think about xanga....especially when I'm eating out with my hubby, and a fly is being especially annoying.  So what does this granny do?  She swats at it of course.  Not a problem...except I do it with the hand that is holding a fork...with yummy steak on it....and OFF it flies!  It was pretty funny actually...and sad.  Losing a great piece of steak for a FLY.  (They are my arch enemies.  )

And I wondered about my xanga friends last week when I was getting ready to go get my hair cut.  I wondered if any other woman  actually fixes her hair BEFORE she goes to the Salon.  I am more concerned that my hair dresser see my hair looking GOOD than just about any other person on the planet!  I've always been that way.....it doesn't make sense, does it?

And I thought about xanga when I was this close *holds up fingers to indicate the tiniest amount* to buying a limited edition, glacier blue, Pacific Touring, tricked out, PT Cruiser.  I know....the PT is either a love it or hate type of car.  But they sure are fun to drive!  Add a sun roof, leather seats, turbo engine, and a spoiler, and well...GO  GRANNY  GO!!!    And as you know that didn't happen.  We got the sensible car that was a rare deal.  My NEXT car might have to be one that's a little more fun...

So I shall end with the latest news.  We head off to Texas this afternoon to visit family down there.  Needing some grandbaby hugs!  And daughter hugs....and well, son-in-law hugs, best girlfriend hugs, brother hugs....you get the picture!  We will be taking the Camry out for it's first road trip with us.  I am sure it will not let us down.

Fickle or not, my intentions are always good.  But as they always say...you can't eat good intentions!  Actually, I just made that up, but it sounded pretty good....not to mention that it didn't even FIT with what I was saying!  I do love you all, and I shall not make any more promises that I can not keep.  But I can promise this....I shall return!

Eventually........

Love and Hugs!

Well before you beat yourself up to much remember that your life has not been your own since April. Thankfully things are settling down for our families and we honestly would not have made it without you and Mike's support during this move. Love ya so much, J

Never apologize for not blogging. I enjoy your posts, but Xanga should be a free-will activity. :)

You're right...you can't eat good intentions.

You CAN however, eat a piece of steak once it has flown off your fork in a frantic attempt to kill a bothersome fly. (I wouldn't advise that one, either.)

I'm so glad you got your beautiful new Camry! I really like it! About the refrigerator... that was really sad, I liked the make of it and how it was set up but those shelves... well, they were ridiculous. I hope you find just the right one that you want. I'm sorry... but the story about the flies and steak... I laughed so hard 'cause I know how much those little flies bother you. They were bothering me at school yesterday. One kept buzzing around me and I could not get it to leave me alone and of course those silly fly swatters are to long to smack yourself with... hard. That smart little thing would land where I could only shooo him away and I could not convince it to land on the table. Well, tell Myklin, Travis, Clarke, and all the other Vinson's hi for me. I hope you have a great trip and that your Camry is comfortable all the way and back again.

Oh, and notice what time I'm writting this. Our house has been HOT the thermostat is going out... yeah I know... great another thing we have to deal with. It's either really hot and humid or really cold. I have a fan in my room rotating and blowing full blast and I woke up HOT and could not go back to sleep... so I decided to get up and make myself tired on my SWEET laptop.

Well, love ya and talk to ya later!

Hey There!  You are a busy gal!  Do you know what we've been eating lately?  And they are delightfully good too.....Wonderful scones from this neat, quaint teahouse cookbook!  I know you like scones too so I thought I'd let you know...Am I being silly?  You betcha!  But I always appreciate hearing from you even if it's far and few between.  ; )

So happy to hear you all have found a reliable and nice car, it sounds like a Godsend indeed!  My hubby has an HHR and we love it!  It has adjustable shelves in the back and is much like a mini suburban, he can pick big items up, folding the seat down and it's great!   We had looked at the PTs but the HHR has a bit more room.

A fridge?  We used to have a Sears brand "Amana".  It was a good fridge.  The way you can usually tell an "Amana" is the corners when you open the door are welded together solid.

You take care now and enjoy those sweet babies!   Love,   ~Amelia

yo ho is Go Granny Go! haha I always love reading your blog entries. And I don't get on the computer hardly EVER anymore. I think I noticed I'm getting real close to hitting the 2,000 unread emails yesterday too. YIKES!!! Granted, a lot of them are unimportant something or others that I signed up to get periodically, a lot of them are probably Xanga or Facebook update things, and I try to go through and read the important person to person ones......... BUT STILL, it makes me crazy overwhelemed seeing that.

This one made me laugh and smile and stop eating my chips and dip I was working on to finish reading. It apparently was quite captivating. Nice job. LOL

I too need to blog more. I noticed it was good for me. Not the time wasted kind, where I just sat around all day visiting my blog to see if I had comments, but the aspect that it got me to write something often, and think my thoughts "out loud," and sometimes you can just think more clearly if you get things out of your head and written down. Also I've been lacking with my devotions and I do believe blogging was a self motivater. I kinda did a lot of preaching to oneself. Ya know?

Anyway, someday I HAVE to take a vacation out to Texas, visit Myklin and Travis and their little guy. I could use a good talk with her. Hmmmm *thinks about the ability to email*

Have fun in TX and I'll catch up with you later. CIAO~ Stephanie

Hi Beth!!  I'm looking at that date up there, August 28th, and realized I haven't been over here since before then!  Shame on me!! I've missed you, as I'm sure all these others have, as well!  Hope you're enjoying that Toyota Camry!  So how was your trip to Texas?  We're talking about visiting Ian out in CA .... so much has happened since I spoke with you last ... I NEED to message you, or send you an e-mail to catch you up!   We've been busy again with our craft shows, so I haven't been on here much, myself!  But I haven't been away as long as you have!  Know that I'm thinking of you, my friend!  Hope to hear from you soon!  Oh, and yes ... I do fix my hair before going to the hairdresser, myself ... and I do like those PT Cruisers, but I like that other smaller square car ... oh, that's it ... a Mini Cooper!  I would love one of those!

Hugs,
~ Deborah <><
